Healthy Heart

So Caylee has a little bit of a heart murmur.  We went to Dr. Rancimun at the Boulder Medical Clinic in Colorado Springs.  Turns out that the doc thinks the murmur is the result of the arteries in her lungs not being "stretched out" enough, thus the blood is pumping harder to get through resulting in a murmur.  Also, the hole in her heart where the placenta feeds in (?--I'm probably not getting all of the info right) has not closed yet.  But again, not a big deal.  We go back in 9 mos., and he thinks that everything will be normal by then.  Always great to hear good news!!

Okay--I didn't used to be into politics at all!  You can credit Oggie for getting me fired up.  However, I consider that a positive thing because it's a scary world and I don't see it getting much better any time soon.  If you're not informed, you need to get that way.  So many things are happening in our country right now.  We actually have states threatening to succede (spelling?).  We are facing a depression.  We have government taking control of many things like the census and today I hear that they want nationalized banking!  Now if you think that those two things don't sound that bad, you're wrong.  The more government controls, the more freedom we lose.  What will the world be like for our kids?  The other day when I was watching Glenn Beck (you should watch him--Fox 3:00 daily and I respect him knowing his LDS beliefs), he showed the cover of Newsweek.  Take a look at the icon.  Uhhh...I'm not a socialist and I don't think socialism is okay!!!  However, that's the road we are taking.  Long before Obama was elected, I have had several heated conversations at college about what a socialist he is and if he's elected we will take a turn towards socialism.  I could go on and on, but it's something I think you should all take interest in.

Camping Fun

So one of our favorite things to do as a family is going camping.  Ever since I can remember, my family has always gone camping at Fun Valley.  It's a little mtn. resort, and it's not the "roughing it" type of camping.  However, it's a safe fun place for the kids.  Even Oggie agrees to that, so we keep the tradition alive with our family.  Here are a few pictures from our trip to Fun Valley last summer.  :o)

Welcome Little Caylee

We welcomed Caylee Joyce Weisenhorn into this world on January 28, 2009 at 1:14 am.  She weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. and was 19 1/4 in. long.  Her middle name, Joyce, comes from my Grandma Carol who shares the same middle name.  We have used a family name for each of our children's middle names.  It's something special that we decided to do for our kids and our families.  Caylee decided to be a little different than her brothers from the get go.  She was my first and last C-Section birth.  Having an emergency C-Section was pretty scary.  I was more worried about Caylee than the actual procedure, but everything ended up good thanks to Dr. Schmucker and some help from up above.  After reading the delivery report and talking to my doctor, we realize how incredibly lucky we are to have a healthy little girl in our home.  Her older brothers are so excited that she is finally here.  Her dad and I are so happy that she has 3 older brothers to look out for her!  Daddy was wrapped around her little finger the instant he saw her.  Welcome home Caylee!

I'm Actually Blogging!

Can you believe it?  I am actually blogging.  Sharee, Kandace and Missi have all been telling me to start blogging.  So why haven't I?  Time!!!  I don't have any free time between teaching, working on my Masters, and oh yeah my family.  So a couple weeks at home for maternity leave and guess what--I'm making time to blog.
