Back To School

So, I went from one boy in elementary school to two in PreK and one in JH. Poor Caylee probably wonders what in the world happened. Cade and Connor just finished their second week of school. They love it! Connor is doing pretty good, while Cade. . . well, let's just say he keeps the teachers on their feet. Cade actually was only able to go to school one day the first week, b/c the three little kids all started running fairly high fevers. So, Wednesday this past week was Cade's third day of school. That was the day that his true colors started showing. When I registered the two boys, I told the teachers that I was nervous about my boys dropping their pants on the playground and peeing outdoors, since they are pretty used that freedom here at home. The teachers laughed and said, "we're used to farm boys". Well, on Cade's third day of school, he dropped his pants and proceeded to pee in the sandbox. Then, later on that day, he put a cap off of the glue stick in his mouth, scaring his teacher half to death. So, she grabbed all of the lids and put them away. When she turned back around, Cade was rubbing the glue stick all over his face. Oh boy, what a year this will be! Christopher is a big JH kid this year, and he loves it! He is in football and had his first game Thursday night. He didn't get a lot of playing time, but they had a JV scrimmage after the actual game. He scored two touchdowns!! I was video taping and missed the first one b/c I was so excited that I lost track of what I was actually filming. Oggie filmed the second one and got it on tape, rather than the ground like me.

Well, hope you all enjoy the updates. I know that I was really far behind. Part of it is that our camera is not so dependable these days, so I waited for Jan's pictures. Oh, and I also updated my graduation pictures too, if you want to look back.

More Fondant Cake Fun

Jan made MacKenzie's (Jason and Tracy's youngest girl) 1st birthday cakes, and she asked me to help her make the ladybugs. The cakes turned out really cute. We could totally go into business together. :o)

Denver Zoo and Air Museum

I know what you're all thinking--yes, Christopher is within an inch of being as tall as me.

Christopher didn't want to pose with the little kids here. :o)
I love this picture! When I was pregnant with Christopher, Oggie and I went to the zoo and took pictures of each other here with the polar bear. Now look at my precious little kids, and such a grown up young man! Love it!

For Cade and Connor's birthdays, Great Grandpa Ed and Great Grandma Lela invited us up to the zoo. I absolutely love the Denver Zoo. We had such a good time! We also ended up going to an air museum, which was really cool, too! Thank you Papa Ed and Grandma Lela, we had a blast!

Cade's Barnyard Birthday

And now, here are the late pictures of Cade's birthday. We had a fun night with family. We started off with a seafood boil--yum! Then we had cake and presents. His cake was a lot of fun to make also. It was a fondant cake and everything on it was edible. I had a lot of fun making the animals out of fondant. The little ladybugs and bees turned out really cute, and Cade couldn't wait to pop one into his mouth. Unfortunately, as you can see, one of the sheep was a little too heavy for the side and ended up tearing the side of the cake. I also had to rush on the border. I wanted to pipe some grass for the border, but I ran out of time and frosting, so I attempted to make a super fast "grass-like" border out of leftover fondant--I'm not impressed with it. Oh well, it was still a really cute and delicious cake! Plus, we had a lot left over to eat for the 4th.

Cowboy Connor's Birthday

So, I'm quite late with this post. This was Connor's Cowboy birthday. It was a lot of fun! I had a really good time making his fondant covered cake. It took so much time to make! Everything was edible. I wish I had a picture from the night before when I put it together; it was much perkier than in these pictures. The heat had started to get to it, and it was starting to melt and lean. I actually sculpted the two horse heads out of modeling chocolate. The cowboy boots and the cowboy hat were made out of rice krispies treats and covered with fondant. The hay bale was made out of peanut butter chips and crunchy chow mein noodles. Connor had such a good time. We had a cowboy campfire and hotdogs. We also invited Cowboy Jim and Cowgirl Kay, and we had Matthew over to spend the night. What a fun night!
