Normally . . .

Normally right now I would be super excited for Spring time and I would be anxiously starting to get the camper cleaned up for the first trip of the season. We would be getting ready to go to Woodland Park with mom and dad, and Kary's family. We would meet Konnie there. Every time I drive past Camping World to go see Kary, I think of stopping there in years past on our way to Woodland Park. Part of me wants to be excited for spring and summer, but I'm so bummed that things aren't "normal". I long for things to be normal; not for my sake, but for my brother's sake and his well-being. While I am extremely bummed that things are the way they are, I am happy that there is hope for things to get back to normal someday. We still have my brother; he is getting better. Someday we'll be planning that camping trip again, along with trips to Fun Valley and Garth's cabin. But for right now, I'll just reminisce, look at old camping pictures, and look forward to when we can go again. Here are some pictures from last year that I got from mom and dad's camera.

A Glimpse of Kary

This is one of my favorite pictures of Kary. It was the day that he got to meet his daughter. One of the things that I love about it is that you see such a sincere and loving expression on his face, and it looks like Kary before anything ever happened. He is just the nicest, most sincere and genuine person that I know, and that totally radiates through his smile as he looks down at Chelsea. I have seen that look on his face so many times when he looks at Sharee and Colton. Dad did an amazing job of capturing a picture of Kary like we have always known him.

Caylee's "Ladybug, Oh So Sweet" 1st Birthday

We celebrated Caylee's 1st birthday tonight. I was supposed to have parent teacher conferences last night, so we held off until tonight. As it turns out, the snow canceled the conferences, but Caylee's birthday kit didn't get here until today, so we had to wait until tonight anyway. She had a ladybug birthday, and it was such a cute kit! Here are some pictures of her birthday.

Sweet Sleeping Caylee & Her Baby

I was cleaning the kitchen and Caylee was crying. Pretty soon she got quiet and this is how I found her asleep hugging her baby--little sweetie!
